Our Story
BUMPER (previously Consultom Projects Ltd) was founded in 2018 to provide production solutions and consultancy services to the global entertainment industry.
Since then, we've been a full service provider, supporting our clients from project conception to project completion. In 2022, we rebranded and became BUMPER.
We also launched our dry-hire lighting department. This has allowed us to help our partners expand and/or contract depending on their needs in a post-Covid live events industry.
But BUMPER is not just a dry-hire or consulting company. We're the provider of production solutions, equipment rental and purchase. We can solve most production problems and tackle challenges no matter the size of the project, or budget.
About our Founder
Thomas Higgins started his professional career as a (BE) Civil Engineer with a keen interest in stage lighting. Since secondary school, Thomas loved stage lighting, and got stuck into the production of the school talents shows and musicals. While getting his BE, Thomas joined the drama society in UCC to get to grips with lighting design, and then became the Technical Manager of the society.
This cemented Thomas' interest in the art of lighting design, and the subtleties of it. When he finished college, he started working for a systems integration company on projects in London, Dubai and Qatar, designing and managing the delivery of theatres and film and TV studios. It was during this time that he learned the importance of smart technical design and project management on large scale technical fit-out projects.
In order to offer both technical design and project management, Thomas completed a MSc in Project management. Then, he founded BUMPER to deliver full-scope technical consulting, project management and integration services to clients around the world.
